An info session for the May Medical Brigade to Honduras will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Remsen 101.
Participants will run a medical clinic, while partnering with local health care professionals, in a rural community in Honduras that does not have access to health care. They will be able to shadow doctors, dentists, pharmacists, gynecologists (females only), pack medications, and work with patients to figure out why they are sick. The next brigade will be a Medical/Dental brigade, May 19-25. The return date is three days before summer classes begin, so that you have sufficient time to rest up. On the same trip, you'll be working with a community over several days to build an eco-stove and lay down pipes for clean water access. All these projects improve the overall health of the communities. Participants work alongside community members and get to connect with them throughout the week.
