The Counseling Center is excited to announce a new support service for survivors of any type of trauma: "Yoga as Healing". Emotions often act as a bridge between our bodies and minds. By practicing yoga, survivors can find a union between seemingly disconnected and challenging aspects of themselves, building the pieces into an integrated whole. Yoga's focus on self-acceptance provides survivors with tangible benefits that can become transformational and healing. This workshop encourages survivors to:
• make time to focus on self-care. • exercise choice to move the body in ways that feel comfortable. • learn to establish connection to your life, trust others, and strengthen relationships. • tap into inner strength and build positive coping strategies for managing painful experiences. • feel empowered through mindful movements and reconnection to the body.
This is an eight-week workshop on Tuesday evenings from 5:00-6:30pm, beginning February 20th.
