Upon completion of this course, participants will receive an American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid & CPR/AED for Lifeguards certification, which is valid for two years from the date of completion.
Cost: $225 for Recreation Center members, $250 for nonmembers. Payment is required at the time of registration.
Registration and payment can be made in person at the Recreation Center office or over the phone at 410-516-5229. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Only credit card payment will be accepted over the phone. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Course sessions are held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, and noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 19 and 20. Attendance is required on all dates and times of the course. Any absences will result in participant's failure in that course. Makeup dates will not be offered. Refunds will not be issued for absences.
Eligible participants must be 15 years old by Jan. 21 and must be able to swim 300 yards, tread water for 2 minutes, and complete a timed event in 1 minute, 40 seconds.
