JHU Transportation Services has installed bicycle transport racks on each of the JHU buses in the fleet that operates the Homewood-Peabody-JHMI Shuttle. The racks each hold two bicycles and are very easy to operate. Another transit agency has made a helpful video explaining how the racks work. Click here to view the instructions.
Some things to reiterate: The driver is not responsible for loading and unloading your bicycle. You are responsible. If you are the last user to unload a bicycle from the rack, please place the rack back in the stowed position to minimize delays (don't make the driver do it!). These racks are designed to fit all but the fattest-tire bikes, so bring your road bike or your mountain bike for a ride! And of course, don't forget to unload your bike when you leave the bus! Lost bikes will be stored at the bus yard in East Baltimore. You will be responsible for retrieving it; we will not deliver it to you.
Transportation Services wishes you safe and happy riding.
