In-Room Composting pilot program

During the Spring 2018 semester, Community Living, the JHU Office of Sustainability and Homewood Recycling will pilot an In-Room Composting program. Residents from 20 rooms within residence halls with in-room kitchens/kitchenettes will be given countertop pails to collect compostable materials generated in their rooms and then transport to the shared compost bin on their floor. Participants will be required to attend a training, provide regular feedback on the process, and attend a wrap up meeting at the end of the semester. If you live in Charles Commons, Wolman, McCoy, Bradford or Homewood and would like to apply for the pilot submit your information via the Google form https://goo.gl/forms/j2PSJN56a3KADweH3 by midnight on December 10th. You will be notified before winter break if you have been selected. Contact Leana Houser, Homewood Recycling Manager, with any questions at lhouser@jhu.edu.
