Interplay Retreat: 'Sitting, Walking, Playing'

This event is nonreligious and open to all regardless of religious affiliation.

The JHU Buddhist Students Association is hosting a half-day retreat: "Sitting, Walking, Playing!" It will consist of brief periods of sitting meditation (which can be done on a cushion, bench, or chair), walking meditation, and InterPlay.

InterPlay is an art form that anybody can do, a spiritual practice for some, and a means of community building grounded in improvisation and play. We use easy, enjoyable forms of movement, music making, storytelling, and stillness to create ease and to unlock the body's wisdom. More information about it is online.

The retreat is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12, in the Barber Conference Room on the second floor of Charles Commons. Please arrive a few minutes early to check in. Wear loose, comfortable, modest clothing that covers you from shoulders to knees, and shoes you can slip on and off easily. Bring a bag lunch.

Register online.

The suggested donation for the retreat leader is $10 in cash at the door. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
