As with other phishing scams and fraud schemes, students should be aware of recent attempts to obtain personal and financial/loan information based on text messages and phone calls claiming that your student loan or financial aid is "on hold" or "flagged".
Remember to never provide your personal or financial information unless you initiated the request and you can verify the identity of the other party.
