World Sight Day 2017 hosted by the Wilmer Eye Institute

World Sight Day is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October, to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. On that day, Oct. 12 this year, the Wilmer Eye Institute will be raising funds to support resident education, specifically focusing on educating residents about eye diseases throughout the world and treatment options.

Additionally, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wilmer residents will be hosting a virtual Ask Me Anything forum on Reddit.com to answer questions from users across the world regarding any ophthalmic-related topic. If you have an account through Reddit, simply log on at 10 to join the discussion, and ask away! Details on how to participate and more information about the event are on the World Sight Day 2017 at the Wilmer Eye Institute page of the Johns Hopkins Medicine website.
