Join the Johns Hopkins volleyball team as we host our second 6 vs 6 Dig Deep Volleyball Tournament to support mental health. Mental illness is an extremely pertinent issue on college campuses. In fact, one in four college students suffers from some diagnosable mental illness, and 60 percent of those students do not seek treatment. With that in mind, it is our hope to promote a more positive community on our campus by reinforcing the importance of mental health and continuing to build a brighter, more together, and more empathetic Hopkins. Together, we can make a more supportive community. Together, we can make sure no student ever feels as if they are battling any mental health issue alone. Together, if we all Dig Deep, we can change the current state of mental health on our campus, one action at a time.
All the proceeds from this event will be donated to the JED Foundation, which aims to help schools evaluate and strengthen their mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention programs and systems to safeguard individual and community health. Additionally, the JED Foundation develops expert resources and creates powerful partnerships to ensure that more teens and young adults get access to the resources and support they need to navigate life's challenges. The JED Foundation aspires to educate and equip students, families, and communities to know when and how to support others who are in distress or struggling with a mental health issue. For more information, visit the JED Foundation website.
