The Department of the History of Art Distinguished Lecture in Art of the Ancient Americas will be held on Thursday, March 9, on the Homewood campus. This year, we welcome Mary Ellen Miller, Sterling Professor of Art History, Yale University. Professor Miller is a leading specialist in the art and architecture of the Maya.
In the evening, Professor Miller presents "Were They Enslaved?: Figurines From the Island of Jaina," at 7 p.m. in Mason Hall auditorium. She gives a talk for students in the afternoon. Both lectures are free of charge.
