Emergency Volunteer Programs At Hopkins and Bayview - Info Session and Spring Application Cycle

The JHH Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments Volunteer Programs, as well as a new Emergency Volunteer Program at Bayview Medical Center are recruiting exceptional volunteers to help provide the best care for families and patients. There will be an info session for all three programs on Tue, January 31 and Wed, Feburary 1 in Gilman 50 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. It is strongly encouraged to attend if you plan to apply, as attendance will be considered in the selection process. Volunteer opportunities include directly supporting clinical research, public health initiatives based from the department, quality assurance rounding, networking with specialists, dedicated shadowing hours, and exposure to the field of emergency medicine, and participation in a novel initiative that can reduce preventable hospital readmissions in Bayview medical patients. Volunteers will serve patients and families from underserved areas in either the Adult Emergency Department Volunteer Program at JHH, the Pediatric Emergency Department at JHH, or the Emergency Department at Bayview Medical Center. Shifts are 4 hours minimum with immediate availability and accepted volunteers will be expected to serve for at least one year beginning March 15. Deadline is 11:59 p.m. Wed, February 8, 2017.
