The Black Faculty and Staff Association announces its annual student oratory competition in celebration of Black History Month, to be held Feb. 23. Students who want to enter the competition are given their choice of three quotes—one by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., one by Barak Obama, and one by Michelle Obama—and are asked to write a three- to five-minute original oratory comparing and contrasting the quote to its relevancy for the future based on their life experiences.
There will be three monetary prizes. All students are welcome to apply. For more information, please visit the BFSA Student Oratory Competition website. Deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on Feb. 13.
