Construction is progressing on Phases 2 and 3 of the San Martin Drive Pedestrian Improvements project, and there are several activities coming up that will affect pedestrians and drivers around that part of the Homewood campus.
From Monday, Nov. 14, through Wednesday, Nov. 16, contractors will be making repairs to the staircase between the Muller Parking Deck and the Bloomberg Center for Physics and Astronomy. On those days, half of the staircase will be closed off for repairs, while the other half will remain open for pedestrians.
On Thursday, Nov. 17, and Monday, Nov. 21, contractors will be installing new trees along Wyman Park Drive. On those days, the section of the road between Carnegie Way and San Martin Drive will be reduced to one travel lane with flagmen directing traffic.
From Friday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 16, contractors will be repaving Wyman Park Drive between Remington Avenue and Carnegie Way (including the Carnegie Way intersection) and San Martin Drive between University Parkway and the lower entrance of the Muller Parking Deck. At least one travel lane will always be maintained in these areas with flagmen directing traffic.
