Undergraduate Admissions Intern

Location Office of Undergraduate Admissions Mason Hall

Description The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is looking for interns interested in learning all aspects of building a class of undergraduate students. Interns will learn transferable skills and be exposed to current topics in higher education like gender equality, financing higher education, diversity and inclusion, and college access.

Responsibilities • Co-present and conduct information sessions for prospective families • Participation in recruitment efforts, including college fairs, high school visits, etc. • Staff Visitor Center front desk and phones • Monitor student email account • Assist on special projects teams, including admitted student programming, alumni volunteer engagement, high school counselor programming, and marketing and social media initiatives • Attend meetings for intern cohort and special project teams • Lead campus tours and interviews, when necessary • Complete other duties and tasks, as assigned

Qualifications • Current Johns Hopkins University undergraduate student on the Homewood campus • Strong professional communication skills • Attention to detail • Interest in higher education careers, as well as, event planning, and social media • Strong public speaking skills • Background in customer service • Positive attitude and love of Hopkins! • Proficiency in Adobe suite is a plus

Schedule and Compensation The position begins in October and runs through early May. Hours will range from 10-20/week. Pay will commiserate with experience.
