The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education will host its annual national conference in Baltimore next month, and Johns Hopkins University is a sponsor. Hopkins staff and faculty will participate in a variety of ways, and student representation is encouraged as well.
The Student Summit portion of the conference will take place on Sunday, Oct. 9. It's an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to network with hundreds of other like-minded students passionate about sustainability, and to connect with professional organizations and activist networks.
A full schedule of events and more information can be found online.
The typical cost of registration is $145, but JHU's Office of Sustainability is offering five free registrations for Hopkins students. To be considered, fill out an online application by the end of the day Monday, Sept. 19. Five students will be randomly selected and notified on Tuesday, Sept. 20th. Applicants should be sure they are available on Oct. 9 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. before applying.
