Johns Hopkins is pleased to support the Marian House 5K Race for Independence again this year. The race will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Lake Montebello starting at 9 a.m. This year, we have created Team Hopkins for students, faculty, and staff. Come out to get some exercise (run or walk) with colleagues, friends, and family and raise some funds for a worthwhile cause! So far, 80 people have signed up to join Team Hopkins, with a goal of 130 people on the team by race day.
For more details about the race and how to register, please visit the race page of the Marian House website. To register, click the "Register Today" button. To join Team Hopkins, go to "Join an Existing Team" and select "Team Hopkins." Fill out your individual information and submit payment. Adults: $35 per runner/walker/family fun run; $40 after Sept. 16. Children ages 3 to 11: $20 per family fun run; children 2 years of age and under can participate for free. Please note that the shirts are Tech shirts and are guaranteed for first 500 adult registrants. Shirts are fitted; order one size up if you prefer a loose fit.
Marian House is a holistic, healing community for women and their children who are in need of housing and support services. It provides a safe, sober, and loving environment that challenges women to respect and love themselves, confront emotional and socioeconomic issues, and transition to stable and independent lives.
If you cannot join the race, please consider donating to Team Hopkins. For more, see this recent Hub At Work story.
