The Homewood Recycling Department is pleased to announce that the event support fee for recycling services will be waived for campus events that are Zero Waste! A Zero Waste event is one that uses all compostable or recyclable alternatives for disposable products (plates, forks, etc.) and produces no trash for the incinerator. The typical fee is $29.35 per 100 guests but will be $0 for an event that is Zero Waste.
The easiest way to make sure your event is Zero Waste is to hire one of our Preferred Green Caterers. These caterers will provide compostable serviceware at no extra cost, and will serve chips, condiments, etc., in bulk rather than in individual wrappers to eliminate waste.
