Pedestrians are advised to take alternate routes around Garland Hall for the next few days and early next week, through July 7, to avoid construction equipment and materials on the east side of Garland near Barton and Latrobe halls. Construction crews will be excavating a trench and installing conduit below the brick walkway from Barton/Latrobe to the east side of Garland. Steel plates will be placed over the trench to allow continued access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians at all times, but we recommend that pedestrians and utility carts go around Garland on the west side near Hodson and Clark to avoid the construction area.
