As the final segment of the IT Infrastructure Project begins, equipment will be at the south end of Barton Hall and in the paved walkway between Shaffer and Shriver for about three weeks, starting today, June 20. The first activity will be the underground boring of conduit from the south end of Barton under the Wyman Quad toward an excavated pit at the Shriver/Shaffer walkway. Pedestrian detours around the equipment will be in place.
In the coming weeks a large pit will be excavated between Shaffer/Shriver for the placement of a new concrete manhole structure. That operation will close the vehicular access to Wyman Quad from Whitehead Road for about three days.
