Are you between 18 and 30 years old? Overweight? We need you!
You qualify to be part of this research study if you:
Are 18-30 years old
Have a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30 (overweight)
Are not pregnant
Do not have diabetes
Do not have high blood pressure
Compensation: You will receive up to $100 for participation. This will come in the form of a check on the day of the study visit. Results for all tests completed will also be mailed to you.
This study consists of:
Having height, weight, and blood pressure measured
Having blood drawn (must fast for eight hours prior to study visit)
Getting an echocardiogram (ultrasound of your heart)
Study Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview campus, conveniently located off I-895 on the east side of Baltimore. There is ample free parking right outside the office for participants in this study.
Study Timing: This study is for one visit only, consisting of about two hours total.
