As paving continues on Charles Street, we would like to remind everyone that there is no parking on southbound Charles Street on Tuesday, May 19, between University Parkway and 29th Street. While the contractors are paving one lane, traffic flow is maintained by using the other lane. The service lanes are open for use and parking.
Thus far the city has been "relocating" vehicles to nearby locations at a much lesser charge than towing them to the city impound lot. More than two dozen vehicles had to be relocated several days ago for crews to begin work on the northbound lanes, though construction barrels have carried notices of "No Parking May 11 to June 1" for the past few weeks.
