Announcing the MEP Call for Innovations

Want to meet CEOs and win up to $5,000 funding? Medical and Educational Perspectives hosts the "Call for Innovations" competition, "Healing and Dealing, From Bench to the Marketplace," on May 4, 5 to 8 p.m., in the Armstrong Medical Education Building, School of Medicine.

How to Participate
Are you an innovator, or are you interested in bringing a medical product or idea into market? We are looking for all members of the Hopkins community who:
+ Have a prototype and are interested in starting a business venture
+ Have brilliant ideas and would like to develop and commercialize their ideas
+ Do not have an idea yet, but are intrigued by the entrepreneurial world and would like to become more educated and informed

How to Win
Participants with a prototype can win cash prizes and win up to $5,000 in funding as well as mentorship and feedback from prominent entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, and professors. Those who submit ideas will also be in consideration for cash prizes! Submission categories are:
+ Global Medical Product (Working Prototype by Sept. 15)
+ Local Medical Product (Working Prototype by Sept. 15)
+ Global/Local Medical Ideas

Interested in submitting a project/idea and/or in attending the event? Please fill out this Google form with your product/idea ASAP.

The deadline for the Google form submission is April 20. When we have your submission, we will send you further requirements for being selected for the competition (i.e., 2-page max proposal), so please submit the forms early!

Lecture/Networking: Just interested in attending the event? We will have an industry keynote speaker at the event and a panel of judges (CEOs, professors, investors and program managers). Come join us!

Description of Awards
Winners in the medical product/prototype categories are sponsored by MEP and will win up to $5,000 funding, which includes a $1,000 cash prize and up to $4,000 in materials/resources costs with the promise to commit to work with MEP for a minimum of a year in the development and commercialization of their ideas.

Winners in the medical idea categories are sponsored by MEP and will receive a $200 cash prize as well as the opportunity to work with MEP to obtain greater funds throughout the year.
