Johns Hopkins University and United Way of Central Maryland have a strong partnership not only for the annual United Way campaign but also for engagement opportunities year-round. One of these opportunities is national Read Across America Day, which, due to inclement weather, has been rescheduled for Friday, March 27. To honor Dr. Seuss and celebrate his birthday, United Way is recruiting volunteers to read The Cat in the Hat and engage young students in a fun corresponding activity. Volunteers are still needed to support this event at Maree G. Farring Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City, 9 to 10:30 a.m. To register or for more information, click here.
The Johns Hopkins Takes Time for Schools (TTFS) program provides eligible university employees with up to two days of paid leave per fiscal year to volunteer with a Baltimore City public school. For additional details about TTFS, click here.
