"The Arrival of Unaccompanied Children in Baltimore: Their Needs & Our Responsibilities" Friday, Feb. 27 noon to 1 p.m. Clark Hall, Room 110 on the Homewood campus Lunch: Bring your own
Abstract: Are you aware that there continues to be a record number of unaccompanied children who are caught crossing the US-Mexican border? This crisis, which President Obama has called an "urgent humanitarian situation", accounted for over 47,000 children under 18 years of age in 2013. This reality is no different for many of our pediatricians today here in Baltimore who struggle to provide care for these children who have survived this journey and need services.
