If you enjoy working with kids and want to help them develop skills to manage their finances and prepare for their own workplace future, join us on Friday, Feb. 27, at Henderson-Hopkins School's Junior Achievement for a Day event. We are currently recruiting volunteers to help elementary school students begin a lifetime of learning about financial and career success. Volunteers will join a classroom and deliver an easy-to-follow, activity-based curriculum that is grade-specific. All volunteers must be available to attend training and orientation on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Henderson-Hopkins. Volunteers will be trained on the curriculum and practices in the classroom. Teachers will also be present in the classroom during the activities. Volunteer shifts begin at 9 a.m. and run as late as 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Times and grades are as follows:
- Kindergarten and 1st grade: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- 2nd and 3rd grade: 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- 4th and 5th grade: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- 6th and 7th grade: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
