Who is your East Baltimore hero? What man or woman—through tireless, unpaid service to others—has transformed lives? Who are the people who make East Baltimore a better place to live and work for all of us?
Perhaps you know a mother or grandmother who has hosted an after-school program for children for years, or a young man or elder who has mentored others. Maybe this person is your neighbor. Maybe you are the hero.
The Urban Health Institute plans to recognize and honor seven "unsung heroes" as part of its 15th anniversary celebration in 2015. These important volunteers will be featured in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's magazine and honored at a celebratory dinner on May 5.
UHI is seeking nominations for these seven unsung heroes between now and Jan. 15. For details on who is eligible and how to submit a nomination, see our website.
