Annual Chili Cook-Off, Dessert Bake-Off to benefit United Way

When: Friday, Oct. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Where: Glass Pavilion, Levering Hall, Homewood campus (Shuttle service is available between campuses.)

You can enjoy lunch and vote for your favorite meat chili, vegetarian chili, and baked goods (while supplies last). Lunch, sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union, includes chili, cornbread, dessert, and a beverage. Admission price: $5 if you wear a Halloween costume, $10 if you do not.

The last day that cooks and bakers can enter their tasty treats is Tuesday, Oct. 28. Register here. All entrants will receive two free admissions to the event, two raffle tickets for a chance win a variety of JHU items, and a "Live United" T-shirt. Special guest judges will announce prizes for first, second, and third place around 12:45 p.m. Contestants are also eligible for a "People's Choice" award in the chili and baked goods categories based on the popular vote. A prize will also be awarded for the best costume.

All proceeds benefit United Way of Central Maryland and the Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund.
