Conquering Negativity: Creating Optimism in the Workplace
In this workshop, participants will acquire techniques to turn around negative attitudes, get tips to spark enthusiasm in employees, and learn what to do when influential people (top management, owners, outside consultants) are contributing to organization-wide negativity.

Professional Medical Coding Training: Intro to ICD-10-CM Coding

Critical Thinking Skills for Today's Employee
Today's employee is required to complete a number of tasks that demand greater collaboration and strategic planning. This workshop introduces you to key elements of the critical thinking process in order to improve communication, problem solving, and overall decision making. Participants will examine common workplace issues, target obstacles to communication like biases, hidden agendas, and rhetorical fallacies, and establish clearer arguments that could lead to productive solutions.

Customer Service: It's Everybody's Job: Managing and Providing Exceptional Customer Service
This workshop is designed to help all employees recognize and take responsibility for serving internal and external customers in a tactful and helpful manner. It stresses the importance of every customer contact in person, on the phone or by email. Emphasis is placed on the importance of clear, calm, and pleasant communication combined with flexible thinking and versatile behaviors.

Introduction to Work Safety and Occupational Health This half-day workshop covers a variety of issues pertaining to Department of Health, Safety and Environment; JHU policy and applicable laws; data and statistics; and the supervisor's role in maintaining a safe workplace. Prevention is discussed along with health and wellness. Environmental issues such as ergonomics are considered along with the topic of injury and illness management including non-work-related illness; dealing with work-related injury and illness; the Workers Compensation Act, and the JHU process for case management.

Campus Conversations on Diversity & Inclusion at Johns Hopkins University This four-hour workshop will provide insight on how diversity and inclusion create value and show the importance of ensuring that all faculty, staff, and students are treated with equity, civility, and respect. Using exercises and scenarios, the workshop takes a multimedia approach in exploring perceptions of power, identity and unconscious biases.

Navigating the Employment Process and Understanding Compensation
This course is part of the Supervisor/Manager Training Program. Participants will gain knowledge about JHU's employment process, including creating and submitting requisitions, conducting behavioral-based interviews and learning about laws that determine what questions can or can't be asked in interviews. The workshop will also discuss useful tools and resources available on the JHU Human Resources website. In addition, participants will gain knowledge about Compensation through topics such as job classification, salary determination, and writing job descriptions.

Learn how civility and care can give you a competitive edge at work.

Creative Decision Making and Problem Solving
This workshop guides participants from the beginning of the problem-solving process to identifying the problem and clearly stating it, to a place where they can comfortably work with others in a creatively charged environment to find innovative ways to solve problems together. Teams become refreshed and energized when they realize they can work together cohesively. Old or recurring problems won't have a chance when your team learns to tackle them in a new way.
