The Robert Resnick Lecturer, Professor Rob Phillips of the California Institute of Technology, will present "Random Walks in Physical Biology" at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, in the Schafler Auditorium, Bloomberg Center for Physics and Astronomy. The event is free and open to the public. The talk will be followed by a reception.
Phillips is a physicist with pathbreaking research in materials science and in the development of quantitative models for biological systems. He is widely known also for his book, Physical Biology of the Cell, which has become essential reading for students training to work in biophysics.
The lecture honors Johns Hopkins alumnus Robert Resnick, a renowned physics educator.
