Graduate students from across the university are needed

The Center for Africana Studies in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences is seeking graduate students from across the university to present their master's thesis or dissertation research to undergraduate audiences at this year's Rap Sessions in African Studies series. Presentations should fall within the substantive purview of the center. The center pursues broad inquiry into the ideas and experiences of African peoples throughout the world. Its interdisciplinary approach is organized around three major subfields: • African-American Studies • African and African Diaspora Studies • Urban Studies

The center's work spans diverse academic disciplines; thus this invitation goes out to graduate students from every division of the university.

Interested graduate students should contact Prof. Katrina Bell McDonald, with a one- to two-page synopsis of what the presentation will entail and a curriculum vitae, at mcdon@jhu.edu. The deadline for submission is Sept. 19, and invitees will be notified soon thereafter.

The Rap Sessions series is held approximately once a month on Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m. on the Homewood campus.
