Live Near Your Work increases grant amount and number of eligible homes near Homewood

Faculty and staff are eligible for assistance with down payments and settlement costs if you purchase a home in an LNYW neighborhood near the Homewood, East Baltimore, and Bayview campuses. Hear how Paulette Hynson benefited from LNYW at http://hopkinsworklife.org/lnyw.

Thanks to increased funding from Baltimore City, the LNYW base grant increased from $3,000 to $5,000. The A1 area near the Homewood campus expanded, thanks in part to our sponsor, the Rouse Company Foundation. The larger area brings more options for buyers and still provides a high grant amount of $23,000 for all of A1. Visit http://web.jhu.edu/lnyw/neighborhoods to view maps of the new program boundaries.

Walking tours of the neighborhoods are scheduled in July and continue through October. For more information, visit http://web.jhu.edu/lnyw/events. If you are considering purchasing a home in an LNYW neighborhood, we strongly encourage you to first contact Sandy Jenkins, program coordinator, at 443-997-7000 or worklife@jhu.edu.
