At a Rising to the Challenge event in Hong Kong on June 20, the focus will be on water, one of the urgent problems confronting the world today. The Johns Hopkins Water Institute was created to address these issues, which include threats to public health, the environment, regional and national economies, and political stability. The goals of the institute are to unite experts in public health, medicine, nursing, bioethics, engineering, economic development, and public policy; fund research that transforms and saves lives; and educate the next generation of water experts.
