The Johns Hopkins Ice Rink at Homewood will return for its fifth year beginning on Jan. 9, offering free skate sessions to both university affiliates and the greater Baltimore community.
Open through Feb. 22, this year's rink will once again be located at the corner of West University Parkway and San Martin Drive, just behind the Imagine Center. Online registration is open now, allowing participants to claim their spots up to three weeks in advance.
Weekday sessions are reserved for Hopkins affiliates with weekends open to the general public. All skate sessions are 90 minutes long and must be booked in advance. Skaters must fill out an electronic waiver before attending, and minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult; children under 3 are not permitted to skate. Skate rentals and refreshments will be provided free of charge.
This year's rink will also see the return of theme nights, with themes including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Harry Potter, and Seniors on Ice. Hopkins affiliates of all ages can additionally sign up for beginner skating lessons with the JHU Figure Skating Club.
More information is available on the Ice Rink's website.
