Johns Hopkins University is launching a new virtual briefing series to share timely updates with faculty, staff, and students on a host of recent federal actions and directives, from research funding reductions to immigration enforcement activities, that have an impact on the day-to-day operations of the university and its community.
The Community Updates series will begin on Tuesday, April 15, at 1 p.m. with a conversation about immigration and visas. Tiffany Wright, interim vice president and general counsel, Jim Brailer, associate vice provost for international student and scholar services, and Branville Bard, vice president for public safety and chief of police, will share information and answer questions during the 45-minute session. Executive Vice Provost Stephen Gange will moderate the discussion.
Briefings can be viewed live at https://hub.jhu.edu/vip/community-updates/; registration is not required, but a JHED login is needed to access the event. Replays of the briefings will not be available.
Members of the university community are invited to submit questions in advance at communityupdates@jhu.edu.
Future briefings will address a range of topics, including the research enterprise, student financial aid, and anti-discrimination and Title VI. Dates and times for those briefings will be announced via the Hub as soon as they are available.
