The Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse earned an at-large bid to the 2016 NCAA tournament and will face 14th-ranked Virginia in a first-round game on Friday in College Park, Maryland. The winner will advance to face No. 1 and top-seeded Maryland, which went 19-0 during the regular season.
The Blue Jays (10-7) advanced to the 26-team tournament for the third consecutive season and the sixth time as a Division I program.
The Cavaliers finished the season with a record of 9-8.
Hopkins is 2-3 all-time against Virginia and won the last meeting, 9-8, in Charlottesville in 2013.
