The 10th annual Lighting of the Quads kicked off the holiday season on the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus last night, as hundreds of students, staff, faculty, and friends gathered on Keyser Quad for music, merriment, and the big moment when President Ronald J. Daniels flipped the switch to light up the quad.
The Johns Hopkins Pep Band performed, as did three student a cappella groups—The Sirens, AllNighters, and Ketzev. Attendees enjoyed hot apple cider, hot chocolate, donuts, and cookies from Insomnia Cookies. The event concluded with a bang—a spectacular fireworks display that lasted nearly 10 minutes.
Lighting of the Quads is sponsored by the Hopkins Parents Fund, Student Government Association, Digital Media Center, and Office of the Dean of Student Life.
