Commencement 2014 schedule of events

Times are approximate

7:30 a.m.—Peabody, Nursing, KSAS, and Whiting undergraduates report to line-up on Keyser Quad
7:30 a.m.—All doctorate and masters candidates report to line-up in the gyms
8:25 a.m.—The undergraduate walk begins from Keyser Quadrangle. The Peabody Band leads the walk
8:40 a.m.—The undergraduates will start arriving at the staging area outside the stadium and will enter Homewood Field. They will be joined by the doctorate and masters candidates.
9:00 a.m.—Platform party processes into the stadium
9:06 a.m.—Procession complete and ceremony is called to order by Chief Marshal Lieberman
9:08 a.m.—Invocation by Kathy Schnurr
9:10 a.m.—National Anthem sung by Alex Rosen
9:12 a.m.—Trustee Chair welcome by Jeff Aronson
9:16 a.m.—Alumni Association welcome by Terri McBride
9:18 a.m.—President Daniels remarks
9:25 a.m.—Honorary degree recipient video
9:27 a.m.—Honorary degree presentation
9:42 a.m.—Class President, Sean Glass, remarks and presentation of the teaching awards
9:48 a.m.—Introduction of ceremony speaker by Sean Glass
9:50 a.m.—Commencement ceremony address by Susan Wojcicki
10:03 a.m.—Class gift presentation by Drew Lash and Jonathan Hunt
10:05 a.m.—Doctoral degree presentation
10:35 a.m.—Master's degree presentation (no walking up)
10:38 a.m.—Bachelors degree presentation
11:58 a.m.—Closing comments by President Daniels
12:00 p.m.—Announcements by Chief Marshal Lieberman
12:02 p.m.—Ode sung by Alex Rosen and recessional led by Chief Marshal Lieberman
