Sophomore Brandon Cherry rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown, and freshman Stuart Walters added 130 yards and a TD as the 12th-ranked Johns Hopkins football team remained unbeaten with a 34-16 win at Gettysburg on Saturday.
Both Cherry and Walters recorded career-high rushing totals as the Blue Jays (7-0) piled up 362 yards on the ground. Robbie Matey and J.D. Abbott also ran for scores, and Nick Campbell kicked two field goals.
Senior Dan Wodicka had eight receptions for JHU, giving him 242 in his career, a Centennial Conference record. The previous mark of 241 career receptions was held by Justin Salton of Franklin & Marshall.
Johns Hopkins return home Saturday to host Ursinus, which comes in with a 6-1 record. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
