Baseball: Blue Jays' winning streak snapped at 20 games

Gettysburg rallies for 8-7 win against No. 3 Johns Hopkins

The Johns Hopkins baseball team, ranked No. 3 in the nation in Division III, saw its 20-game winning streak end with an 8-7 loss to Gettysburg on Tuesday afternoon.

The Blue Jays (27-3) led 6-0 after two innings, but the Bullets (21-10) took advantage of a pair of JHU errors to score seven runs in the fourth inning and held on for the victory. It was the first loss for Johns Hopkins since it lost the first game of a doubleheader against Pitt-Bradford on March 17 in Fort Myers, Fla.

Senior catcher Ryan Zakszeski went 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs for the Blue Jays. Zakszeski, who is batting .402 for the season, was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday for the week of April 8-14. He batted .571 with 8 RBIs during that span.
