Senior nets game-winner in OT as Blue Jays rally for 2-1 win

Senior Brandon Sumpio scored in overtime as the Johns Hopkins men's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 overtime win against Franklin & Marshall in a Centennial Conference tournament quarterfinal game at Homewood Field on Wednesday night. With the win, the Blue Jays (8-7-2) advanced to the conference semifinals for the seventh consecutive season.

The Diplomats (12-6) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute on a goal by Jared Bomba.

JHU drew even in the 84th minute on a goal by junior junior Danny Reategui, setting the stage for Sumpio's game-winner. Sumpio headed an attempted clear to himself on the right side of the penalty box, then volleyed the ball inside the far post, setting off a wild celebration.

The Blue Jays advanced to face top-seeded Swarthmore on Saturday at 6 p.m.
