JHU field hockey holds on for win vs. McDaniel, evens record

Blue Jays get goals from Fryer, Phillips in 2-1 victory

The Johns Hopkins field hockey team scored two goals in a three-minute span in the second half and held on for a 2-1 Centennial Conference win against visiting McDaniel on Tuesday.

Junior Maddie Fryer got the Blue Jays (8-8) on the board nine minutes after halftime, redirecting a shot from Storm Kodde. Three minutes later, senior Maggie Phillips scored what would prove to be the game-winner, with the assist again going to Kodde.

Senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Peijnenburg made 13 saves for JHU, which wraps up the regular season on Friday at Gettysburg.
