Johns Hopkins, Virginia to meet in Face-Off Classic

Rivals will meet March 23 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore

Johns Hopkins will face rival Virginia on March 23 in the second game of the annual Face-Off Classic at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium. The game will begin at 4:30 p.m. and be televised by ESPNU.

Last season, the Blue Jays defeated the Cavaliers 11-10 in overtime in a matchup of the nation's No. 1- and No. 2-ranked teams. JHU leads the all-time series against Virginia, 53-28-1, though the teams have played eight one-goal games since 2002.

"Our rivalry with the University of Virginia is one of the great rivalries in our sport, and to have the opportunity to play this game at M&T Bank Stadium will only add to the excitement surrounding the game, JHU coach Dave Pietramala said in a news release.

The Blue Jays have participated in the Face-Off Classic every year since it began in 2007 and are 4-2 all-time in the event.

Navy and Colgate will square off in the first game of the day. Tickets for the Face-Off Classic go on sale at 11 a.m. on Nov. 1 online at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.
