Baker scores early for Blue Jays, but Lions pull away for win

The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team struck first, but the 21st-ranked College of New Jersey scored five unanswered goals for a 5-1 victory at Homewood Field on Wednesday.

Junior Kelly Baker staked the No. 17 Blue Jays (9-3-1) to an early lead with a goal in the fifth minute, but the Lions (12-1) responded with three goals in a seven-minute stretch later in the first half to take control of the match. The Lions outshot the Blue Jays 13-8.

JHU hosts Haverford on Saturday at 7 p.m.
