Grady selected to lead university's planning, budget team

She has overseen budgeting at School of Nursing since 2010

Helene Grady, who has overseen finance and administration at the School of Nursing since March 2010, will assume the role of vice president for planning and budget at Johns Hopkins University next month.

In her new position, Grady will lead the university's planning and budget team, Daniel G. Ennis, senior vice president for finance and administration, said in an email announcement to faculty and staff on Monday.

Additionally, she "has been charged with significantly strengthening the quality of financial planning and analysis required to inform university decision-making regarding allocation of capital and operating resources in support of academic priorities," Ennis wrote.

Grady's appointment was approved by the executive committee and the Board of Trustees, concluding a national search. She will begin in her new position on Nov. 1.

Before joining the School of Nursing, Grady served as deputy director of finance for the City of Baltimore and, prior to that, as deputy budget director for the City of Philadelphia.
