Five score as Johns Hopkins men's soccer blanks Ursinus

Three freshmen net first career goals in 5-0 victory

Five different players scored their first goal of the season for the Johns Hopkins men's soccer team on Saturday as the Blue Jays rolled to a 5-0 win against visiting Ursinus.

Senior Brandon Sumpio got the scoring started for JHU (5-4-2) with a tally in the 18th minute. Freshmen Eric Buck, Nigel Joseph, and Kenny DeStefano, and sophomore Andrew Clayton also scored for JHU, and goalkeepers Nick Cerrone and Madison Wilcox combined for the shutout.

Ursinus fell to 4-8 overall.

Johns Hopkins travels to Aston, Pa., to face Neumann on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
