JHU women's soccer nets win, draw on weekend road trip

Blue Jays bounce back from first loss with draw against No. 2 Emory

The Johns Hopkins women's soccer team, ranked No. 3 nationally in Division III, earned a 2-2 draw against second-ranked Emory on Friday night in Raleigh, N.C.

Junior Pamela Vranis and freshman Issy Berkey scored for the Blue Jays in the first half, but Emory fought back with two goals after halftime. The match was JHU's second in a row against a nationally ranked opponent, coming two days after a 4-0 defeat against No. 5 Messiah.

On Sunday, JHU got a goal and an assist from senior Taylor Schulte in a 2-0 victory against Birmingham-Southern. Junior Jenny Hall also scored for the Blue Jays, and Kelly Leddy had six saves for the shutout.

John Hopkins (3-1-1) visits Stevenson on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
