Junior JD Abbott ran for two touchdowns, and the Blue Jays' defense limited host Susquehanna to 138 total yards in a 34-7 win in Selinsgrove, Pa., on Saturday afternoon in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams. The win extended JHU's regular-season winning streak to 16.
Junior receiver Bob D'Orazio had five catches for a career-best 122 yards and a score for the Blue Jays (2-0), senior Jonathan Rigaud ran for 81 yards and a touchdown, and junior quarterback Robbie Matey threw for 231 yards and a score. He also ran for a touchdown.
Senior Adam Schweyer led the Johns Hopkins defense with 10 tackles, including one of five sacks recorded by the Blue Jays.
The Crusaders fell to 1-1.
JHU returns home this weekend when it hosts Moravian at 2 p.m. A win would give Johns Hopkins coach Jim Magraff his 150th career victory.
