A few new contributors will be joining the popular Hopkins Insider admissions blog, which launched in December 2005 and has helped establish Johns Hopkins as one of the best social media colleges in the country, and a familiar voice will step aside.
Senior Admissions Officer Daniel Creasy, the blog's founder and primary voice—he's written more than 300 posts, by his own count—recently accepted a position in the Admissions Office at Emory University and will be leaving Johns Hopkins. Four bloggers from the JHU Admissions Office will continue to give readers helpful advice and insight into the admission process.
In his farewell blog post, Creasy writes:
Read more from Hopkins InsiderI didn't realize back then what I was starting would become a major component of the everyday work of a college admissions office. Admissions blogs that provide a transparent and accessible connection to the inner working of the selection process as well as other forms of social media outreach by formerly reclusive admissions staff is not only commonplace, but now expected. I am proud that we were ahead of the curve at Hopkins, and that as I depart for a new challenge I leave the Admissions Office with a true legacy and a game plan for remaining at the top of the heap.
