Johns Hopkins football team romps to win in season-opener

Blue Jays pile up 344 rushing yards in 36-13 victory vs. Randolph-Macon

Johns Hopkins piled up 344 rushing yards and got two touchdowns from senior Jonathan Rigaud in season-opening 36-13 win against Randolph-Macon at Homewood Field on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Scott Barletta and freshman Brandon Cherry also ran for scores, junior Daniel Wodicka caught a touchdown pass from Robbie Matey and the Blue Jays (1-0) raced to a 27-0 lead in the first half en route to their 15th consecutive regular-season win.

Junior JD Abbott ran for a career-best 123 yards, and JHU's defense racked up six sacks against the Yellow Jackets.

JHU opens Centennial Conference play on Saturday when they visit Susquehanna at 1 p.m.
