Kevin Carter ("An Inspiring Life Remembered") is the director of business development for EcoMap Technologies, a Baltimore-based startup co-founded by Pava LaPere, A&S '19. He previously worked as a student program manager for Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures.

Linda Day Clark ("The Way Maker," photography) is a visual artist, scholar, and professor at Coppin State University. Her project The Gee's Bend Photographs has been featured in exhibitions at the Walters Art Museum, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Lucy Jones ("She Dared to Dig," illustration) is an illustrator and printmaker based in Rome. Past clients include The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and New York magazine.

Dina Fine Maron ("Finding Home"), BSPH '12 (MPH), is a former staff reporter at National Geographic  magazine. Maron's work has also appeared in Scientific AmericanNewsweekThe Boston GlobeBloomberg Businessweek, and The New York Times.

Alex Eben Meyer ("Bacteria Are Talking," illustration) creates bright, colorful, and fun illustrations that often feature inanimate objects doing animate things. He describes himself as "a disgustingly upbeat and optimistic person."

Annie Roth ("Bacteria Are Talking") is a science journalist, filmmaker, and children's author based in Santa Cruz, California. Her work has appeared in National GeographicThe New York TimesHakai Magazine, and many other publications. Roth writes best when a cat is sitting on her lap.

Illustrator and painter Manon Biernacki blends realism and surrealism for this issue's cover image, a depiction of the indomitable spirit of women and the transformative power of education. Born in France but now based in Vancouver, Canada, Biernacki is known for her vibrant and thought-provoking artwork that explores themes of identity, empowerment, and knowledge.
